What they say about Pilgrim Pathways

Paul used to be my church minister and he organised several long-distance walks for us, sometimes using existing pilgrimage routes like St Cuthbert’s Way and other times he devised a route.

These weren’t just walks though, and I came to value the times when we’d stop to appreciate some beauty in God’s creation, or to hear about the history of a church and those who’d worshipped there, or perhaps something like a holy well and its story.

There were good conversations, quiet periods for meditation, and times of prayer too, all of which really helped me to grow in my Christian faith. I’m so pleased to hear that Paul is developing this walking ministry and I’d thoroughly recommend anyone to try a Pilgrim Pathways pilgrimage.
I have had the delight of walking with Paul Revill on a variety of pilgrimage journeys over the last ten years or so.

This included a reconciliation pilgrimage in 2013, following the route the English army took from Durham to the Flodden battlefield of 1513 and journeying with the Bishop of Durham and others on the inaugural pilgrimage of The Way of Light in 2021.

What I noticed was that he fits in so well in a group and he brings a unique contribution which includes an optimistic outlook, often spiced with humour, which also keeps the group in a positive mood.

He is a very knowledgeable and competent person and you can be sure he will guide you safely on your pilgrimage.

I was fortunate enough to participate in two of Paul's excellent guided pilgrimage walks. The natural beauty of the landscapes that we passed through were delightful and the connections made by Paul to the history and spiritual significance of each waypoint and landmark was fascinating.

Paul wears his impressive erudition lightly and tells engaging tales.  The walks gave me the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of other pilgrims.   There was plenty of time for reflection and prayer, as well as the enjoyment of good company with fellow travellers who walk with Jesus or who seek to find greater meaning and purpose in their lives.

I highly recommend Paul’s Pilgrimage Walks to those of faith and those who are curious to find out more about spirituality.
