One Day Walks
A day's pilgrimage walk typically starts and finishes at a place of spiritual heritage or significance and follows a recognised pilgrimage or walking route. The walk will follow well-used paths and generally not require too much strenuous climbing. Terrain may include fields and woodland paths, tarmac and pavements, with occasional walking on quiet roads.
Distances vary between around 6 to 15 miles. There will be stops along the way and opportunity to linger in special places of interest. The walker will need to arrange transport to the start location, and Pilgrim Pathways will organise the return journey, often using public transport for this purpose. Most walks will require the participant to bring walking boots, wet weather clothes and refreshments.
