Bradford on Avon to Bath

Sunday 20th October 2024 - 12 miles / 6 hours

DSC03419

This route follows the Aquae Sulis Way from the fascinating ancient Saxon town of Bradford on Avon, along the towpath of the picturesque Kennet and Avon Canal through the wooded Avon valley and into the famous spa city of Bath.  As well as the river and canal, this route features holy wells and concludes at the famous Roman Spa in Bath, where you can drink the waters or bathe in the hot springs.  The theme for the day will be 'living water' and we will reflect upon how water plays its part physically and metaphorically in the journey of our lives.

We will stop for lunch on the way at the Angelfish Cafe in Monkton Combe.  We will return to Bradford on Avon by train at the end of the walk.

Cost: £40, not including lunch
